Slow-watering spike
Self-initiated project
The problem
A potted plant needs water at a rate a watering can cannot give it, and the off-the-shelf spikes are either fragile or need a bottle you have to keep buying.
What I did
A single teardrop body tapering to a point, oriented on the plate so the whole form prints unsupported. Wood-filled PLA for the surface, which reads as ceramic at arm's length and costs a fraction of it.
The result
Prints in one piece with no supports and no cleanup. Listed on Etsy at $5 in a 5in by 2.5in size, with larger custom sizes made to order.
